Thus far, we have seen seven fantastic episodes of Bleach’s Thousand Year Blood War arc at the time of writing this. This was up until recently an arc only Bleach manga readers could enjoy, as the anime was cancelled in 2012.
However, after a decade of hope, Bleach fans were finally given their final arc in animation and it has made me wonder. Will this be the last animated arc that we receive? The TYBW arc is the final canon Bleach arc from the manga but that doesn’t mean that Bleach needs to end there.

We have seen this before when Naruto Shippuden ended. At that time, the final few episodes showcased some anime-only content and animation adaptations of some side novels. Currently, Bleach released a special manga chapter, Bleach: One Shot, in 2021. As well as a trilogy novel series called Bleach: Can’t Fear Your Own World. All of these are set in the years after TYBW.

The One Shot manga did hint another threat was on its way to Soul Society but only one chapter has been released thus far so, I doubt this will be animated anytime soon. However, there is enough content to make an entire arc from the novels so, that’s a real possibility.

I doubt we will see Bleach make an entirely new anime generation as Naruto has with Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, as it has received mixed reactions thus far. Though, a few episodes at the end of Bleach derived from the side stories is likely. There is no time like the present and at this point in time, VIZ have the entire crew already working so, if it’s ever going to happen, it will have to be now.
