Over the weekend (granted I hadn’t played the game for a few weeks prior) I tried to play AFL Evolution 2 on my stream. You can check me out CruzTseros21 on Twitch and what I discovered was the same thing most Xbox gamers stumble upon when they pick up a game again for the first time in a while, an update.
Yes, I know had to wait another 20 minutes before playing the game for this update. Then, finally, the update happened and it mended some glitches that had frustrated me during my career-mode in the past but there was an addition, which made things worse.
Ray Chamberlain was suddenly on my screen very two seconds. No matter what the umpire call was, boundary throw in or free kick he was there in full picture explaining something to the player who just had the ball.
This cut-scene had to be skipped every time and sometimes, that caused me to accidentally kick the ball, as the cut-scene would end quicker than expected. This was a little frustrating when you’re playing online and you deep in your defense.
Then it came to me. Someone came in bright and early one morning, sat in a conference room, eager to suggest a new way to make AFL Evolution 2 better and pitched the idea that we need more umpire screen-time. Then , after that, there were other guys in the room who thought this person was a genius and agreed that AFL fans wanted to wait 20 minutes for an update to experience this incredible idea.
What the absolute F&%k? How about next time you guys work on the glitches that frustrate us such as there being no delist option in career-mode. The fact that un-contracted players, who I can’t delist, will be re-signed to the club despite being over the salary cap and given long deals, which means the next year I have to trade out that player I don’t want or lose someone I do wan to retain. This stops trades as all clubs suffer from this and after a few years, you can’t trade players anymore because all clubs are full and have no money remaining. I don’t know about you guys but fixing this sounds way more important than more Ray Chamberlain.
