Now, May is set to miss up to a month of footy following the injury and I think that’s just too much for May holders weather. If Steve May is in your team leading into round 5, you might want to consider taking the loss now and trading him away.
Yes, he won’t drop any further while he’s injured but May’s form wasn’t great beforehand and if he returns to that form, he’s only going to drop in price further. For those who don’t have him though, May might be a great recruit soon.
The reason being, his price will likely drop further as that 7 point game remains in a 3-week average. However, after his injury and two games after his return, May could be a bargain. If his price drops further due to the poor average but he’s form remains in the early 80’s, recruiting him after the 7-point game leaves that 3-games average window, we will see some price increases. Not only that but May’s best footy is still good enough to be a top 6 defender so, he could be a steal if he returns to his round 1 efforts and drops in value a little more.
