The only other rookies that might be worth brining in are debutants Lachlan Bramble (Hawthorn midfielder $102,400) and Sam Durham (Essendon midfielder/defender $102,400). Ned Cahill is about to play his third game this season (Essendon forward $161,200) but his spot in the team will not be secure and don’t expect big scores from him.
Between Bramble and Durham, the latter is the most enticing to bring in, as he has a duel position player and a ready-made option impressing in the VFL this year before being taken by Essendon on the mid-season draft, but I’ll wait another couple of weeks first. If you don’t already have Hawthorn’s Jai Newcombe, it’s time to bring him in. Newcombe broke the record from the most amount of tackles on debut and scored a decent 75 SuperCoach points.
Newcombe is playing this week and will likely hold his spot in the weeks to come. Being priced at $102,400, he is the best option for a trade-down this week and next. I personally took the risk and traded him last week. But taking on another un-tired rookie like that two weeks in a row, is a little too risky for me. I’ll hold my trades for now.
