We are only hours away from the start of round 14 and it’s already looking as if it’s going to be a tough round for SuperCoach players. With the West Coast and Richmond game being moves to last week, many SuperCoach players who planned ahead before the announcement, are now left in a difficult situation.
I am one of those coaches. This weekend, I am embarrassingly only fielding 12 players and I will not be making any trades. I was going to finally trade away Hawthorn’s Tyler Brockman but the young midfielder/forward has been named to play this week, for the first time since round 4. Therefore, at the price-tag of $172,700, he’s worth more to me playing this week than me trading him away. It’s sometimes better to play the long-term game than brining in a quick fix for and extra 50 points this week.
Furthermore, the only player on my radar to bring in is West Coast’s Luke Edwards, who is only $117,300. The midfielder scored 96 SuperCoach points last week and was one of the Eagles best against the Tigers. Furthermore, Edwards is only one game away from increasing in value but not playing this weekend, means that we will have to wait until next week for that to happen. As a result, I will not be making the Brockman and Edwards trade until next week, as Brockman’s price will likely increase this week, increasing the cash that I bank and at least scoring, while Edwards takes the week off.
