The Richmond triple-premiership-player and 2019 Best & Fairest winner in Dion Prestia, was a player that we believed was undervalued heading into the 2021 AFL SuperCoach season. After and injury plagued 2020, which resulted in only 5 appearances during the home and away season for Prestia, his value started at $446,800.
However, knowing what a fit Prestia is capable of and after an injury free pre-season, that appeared to be well below his actual value. As a result, we believed that he could be a bargain for the first half of the year, score well and increase in value for an eventual trade-off for an upgrade.
For the first two round, this all looked as if it was moving exactly how we had predicted, with scores of 82 and 98. Now, we know that tthese aren’t spectacular results, as they didn’t quite crack 100 points and was still below Prestia’s best but they were solid results, especially for a player at his price-range.
