PLAION’s Atari 2600+ On Display At PAX AUS & Available For Pre-Order

If you ask my young teenage cousins, they’d tell you that my Xbox 360 is “classic gaming.” However, for those of us that are starting to hear more cracks in their joints than they did last year, PLAION is proud to showcase some nostalgia for our version of classic gaming. The Atari 2600+ is a new modern day recreation of the pioneering console that first appeared in 1977.

The Atari 2600+ is an updated version of the iconic Atari 2600, and has been enhanced to allow players to play both Atari 2600, as well as 7800 game cartridges. There is a HDMI output, which makes it easy to connect to new screens. Speaking of screens, the Atari 2600+ has widescreen mode! Also, according to reviews, the Atari logo lights up when being played, which is pretty cool.

The recreated system comes with a CX40+ Joystick, which has the same specifications as the original. Check out the Atari 2600+ trailer posted by PLAION ANZ below.

The new Atari 2600+ will be on display at PAX Aus next week in the true “Classic Gaming” area, and let’s be honest, this is probably where I will be spending most of my time this weekend. However, Nintendo is also showcasing the new Super Mario Bros. Wonder, ahead of release.

We will also be able to play Detective Pikachu Returns, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, on Nintendo Switch. All of which will tempt me to try out some new games as well. The Atari 2600+ is launching worldwide on 17th November 2023, and available to pre-order for $189.95. I will be providing further updates, as well as video’s on our TikTok and Instagram during PAX Aus this weekend. Friday & Sunday Badges Selling Out Fast! Book now here.
