A new character has appeared in the latest Dragon Ball Super manga chapter and he is confirmed to be the next arc’s villain. The character is named Granola and little is known of him other than he was aware of Seven-Three’s survival during the last battle against Moro.
Though, because there is little known about the man just yet, we can all speculate as to what his intentions are. So, let’s begin with why I believe that Granola isn’t an angel like many believe and is, in fact, a Tuffle instead. This is a story that has been replayed several time sin non-canon Dragon Ball content through Baby’s appearance in Dragon Ball GT and in the Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 anime short.
First of all, a surviving Tuffle is a serious possibility as there is plenty of reasons for a Tuffle to be the next villain. Remember, the Tuffle’s were wiped out by the Saiyan’s on Planet Vegeta, as they were sadly the weaker species on the planet. However, their intelligence were far superior to that of the Saiyan’s and that where they Saiyan’s were able to get hold of their first space ships before Frieza came.
As a result, it’s very likely that there were Tuffle’s far away from Planet Vegeta when the Saiyan’s took over, just as there were survivors of Saiyan’s when Frieza destroyed the planet. Obtaining the power of Seven-Three would be a great addition and key to finally matching the Saiyan’s as well so, there are motives there for Granola.
As I said before, Tuffle’s reappearing to seek revenge on the Saiyan’s has been played out before in non-canon anime content but it’s strange that it hasn’t been explored in canon content. Furthermore, the Tuffle’s that we have seen in the Dragon Ball Z anime, look human-like, which is what Granola looks like. Am official coloured scan of him confirms this and weakens the fallen-angel possibility.
Tuffle’s in the non-canon anime sometimes look different to that of the Tuffle’s in canon content. So, that’s why I have attached photo’s of what we know the Tuffle’s look like from canon content. The arrival of Broly in the latest Dragon Ball Super movie, as well as Goku and Vegeta’s fame growing across the universe (Galactic Patrol medals and legends of defeating Frieza), it’s possible that word reached any possible surviving Tuffle’s and revenge is the perfect motive for evil deeds.
