The Boruto anime has already showcased a time-travel arc where Boruto Uzumaki went back to the Konoha of the past and interacted with his father, as well as several other younger Naruto part 1 characters. As a result, many Naruto fans have started to wonder if this is the last time we will see anything like this.
Recently, over on Reddit, fans virally argued about why Minato needs to get his own series as a sort of prequel. However, it’s doubtful that with Boruto Naruto Next Generations raging on, that another spin-off series will begin but it’s possible that with enough interest, an anime-only season of Minato could be created.
Naruto Shippuden bolstered a huge line-up of prequel flash-back episodes, showcasing the back stories of numerous characters. These were often added to the anime as filler but were still interesting and entertaining to watch. Boruto thus far, has not doe this and has instead mostly focused on the future, rather than the past.
Though, Minato is the Fourth Hokage and the grandfather of Boruto. Even after death, Minato was able to help his son in the toughest times while he progressed. It’s possible that Minato might be able to do so again for his grandson.
Cloning, synthetic humans and reanimation have all been displayed throughout the Naruto and Boruto universe multiple times. Furthermore, time-travel is now canon too. Therefore, there are multiple ways for Boruto to potentially interact with his grandfather if the series wanted to introduce him.
This sadly is just a theory and the idea is entirely fan fueled. However, with enough interest, the Boruto anime writers and producers might find it worthwhile to explore the possibility of more Minato in Boruto.
