I know, the debate about who is stronger between Goku and Vegeta has always been a big topic in Dragon Ball Z, as both fighters continue to surpass the other. The same has occurred in Dragon Ball Super but today we are talking about the two characters in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, not in the anime.
Today we will discuss the differences between both Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan God forms from the latest DLC and then reveal who is stronger. The results are very similar to the ones we have found in previous Dragon Ball games such as Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Raging Blast.
Goku has greater HP, Melee Attacks and Defences. Goku can also inflict a lot of damage to an enemy that is stunned. Meanwhile, Vegeta has much hight Ki and can inflict larger Ki Attack Damage. Vegeta can also punish his opponents with a lot of Ki-combo Attacks as well.
As you can see, both characters are very different and are stronger than one another in different ways. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has made choosing between the two quite fair but it’s up to you to make the right choice.
It seems to us that the two are both strong and it’s up to the player to make the final call based on the way they like to play the game. If using Ki attacks is your main tactic, Vegeta is clearly the better option but if close-up fighting is your style, Goku wins by a long-shot.
By switching their roles, using Vegeta for hand-to-hand combat and Goku with Ki attacks predominantly, you won’t be maximising their individual strengths but that would also make the fight pretty even, as both would be at a disadvantage.
Sadly, there’s no definitive answer, which is the same in the Dragon Ball Super anime. I guess you’re going to have to use both and discover which one you play better with. My personal favourite is usually Gohan anyway who usually is pretty even in both his Ki and Melee attacks. However, the power difference between Ultimate Gohan and Super Saiyan God is vast and the two Saiyan’s easily beat Gohan on this one sadly.
