It has been a while since we have received a new Dragon Ball Super episode. In fact, it has been almost three years now since Dragon Ball Super episode 131 dropped and hinted that there was more to come. Since then though, the series has continued through the manga and with a movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
However, Dragon Ball Super fans are still wanting more and more they received this week, as Dragon Ball Super was trending on Twitter yesterday and it had nothing to do with the manga. In fact, the manga isn’t set to be released for over week from now, it was the anime that sparked all the conversations.
The reason Dragon Ball Super’s anime started to trend was because of Toonami starting its run of the Tournament of Power arc. Yes, this sadly means that there’s still yet to be an announcement on a Dragon Ball Super part 2 or Dragon Ball Super episode 132.
The trend did fuel fans with excitement, as they pleaded for the series to return. However, it seems as if for now, their pleas have fallen on deaf ears, with no hint of an anime comeback in response. As mentioned before, the Dragon Ball Super manga has continued its story and the Dragon Ball Super film also further added to the Super universe.
This means that there is plenty of new content that the anime can work on through the Moro arc and even a Broly arc. Obviously, throw in some filler episodes and you have a couple of decent sized seasons already. Furthermore, with such excitement and positive signs from fans, producers know that a return will be worth their time.
When Dragon Ball Super does return, you can expect the series to extend on the events of Broly’s return, as the series did when it re-animated the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F movies.
