In the previous manga chapters, we have seen our first angel perish after interfering with a mortal battle. This fallen angel was Merus, the latest teacher for Goku and the one who helped him master Ultra Instinct upon his death.
Merus was erased after fighting against Moro, despite it being a brief battle however, there’s a chance that he can still return and no, I don’t mean through a wish from one of the many Dragon’s summoned from the Dragon Ball’s.
No, I’m talking about the latest technique that Vegeta learned from the Yardrat’s, the same planet Goku learned Instant Transmission and Fusion. Vegeta’s new technique, Spirit Fission, allows Vegeta to un-fuse any kind of fusion, which includes Moro’s absorptions and even the Namekian’s style of fusion.
As a result, Vegeta is likely the one who the earth will need to turn to in the current Dragon Ball Super manga chapter, as Moro has fused with the earth in order to maintain the power of Merus’s Ultra Instinct. However, it’s that power that Moro has absorbed that might be the loophole to Merus’s death.
Merus was erased after fighting Moro but some of his spirit remained within the hand that touched Moro, which Merus removed just before death. This is how Moro was able to access Ultra Instinct but by doing this, it means that Merus’s spirit wasn’t completely erased.
As a result, if Merus’s spirit that Moro has fused with his removed from him, it’s possible that Merus could be resurrected, as that part of him is not erased. Therefore, by Vegeta un-fusing Moro again, it could in theory, bring back Merus as well or as the very least allow his soul to enter the after-life an potentially bring him back at a later date with earths Dragon Balls.
