The Ten-Tails is returning well, at least that’s what Isshiki wants anyway. Whether or not the Ten-Tails actually returns is something we will have to wait to see but regardless of whether or not the Ten-Tails returns, one fact will not change and that’s Boruto is the key to the Ten-Tails return.
In the most recent Boruto manga chapter, it was revealed that an Otsutsuki clan member must be sacrificed in order to awaken not only the Ten-Tails but the Diving Tree as well. Boruto now possesses the Karma mark from Momoshiki and by sacrificing Boruto, it would in turn also sacrifice Momoshiki.
Clearly, Boruto, Naruto and everyone in Konoha wants to make sure that none of this happens. Not only for the sake of Boruto but also because it would eventually lead to the death of everyone else in the world. We know that Naruto and technically Gara were able to survive the extraction of their Tailed Beasts when the Ten-Tails was first awakened in the previous war.
Therefore, there’s a chance that the Ten-Tails could still return and Boruto surviving. It will be interesting to see what happens next now that Isshiki’s intentions have been revealed. Naruto has awakened a new transformation, which has a dangerous consequence.
The next chapter of BorutoNaruto Next Generations will be released on the 20th of November and spoilers, as well as leaked mange pages will circle a few days before that. At that time, we will likely see Naruto stop Isshiki, which means that we won’t be seeing the Ten-Tails return. However, that doesn’t mean that Boruto won’t be used as a sacrifice later on.
As long at Kara and the Otsutsuki exist, Boruto will be a target. Furthermore, Momoshiki is slowly taking control over Boruto’s body and if he prevails, Boruto will also be sacrificed. As you can see, there are a number of evil characters eager to take out Boruto so, even if Naruto defeats Isshiki, there are others who will take their shots next.
