In a recent report by Game Rant, they discussed the transition Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will make as it enters the new next generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Both Microsoft and Sony will be releasing these new consoles later on this year, with several anime games making the switch.
However, the most surprising of these games to be ported to the next generation of consoles is Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, as it has been over four years since the game was first released. Although, in saying that, GTA V is coming to the new consoles and that’s over seven years old so, maybe this isn’t as surprising as we first thought.
The reason Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is still relevant is due to the continuous content the game has released in forms of DLC’s over the last few years. The game incorporated Dragon Ball Super content before newer releases such as Dragon Ball FighterZ, which only recently added Ultra Instinct Goku to its line-up, almost two years after Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 did as a DLC.
In addition, the game incredible customisation, which Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the most recent two Dragon Ball games, lack. As a result, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has a vibrant online community and as a result, reports by Game Rant state that this is why the game will be heading to the new consoles.
Meanwhile, as an incentive to play the game again on the new consoles, Game Rant believe that Bandai will be making a number of additional content free for players who make the switch, similar to how Rockstar is doing the same for GTA V. The later is yet to be officially confirmed but Game Rant is confident that it will happen.
